Misanthropy is the general hatred, distrust or contempt of the human species or human nature. A misanthrope or misanthropist is someone who holds such views or feelings.

Politeness is the practical application of good manners or etiquette.
Friendly means behaving in a pleasant, kind way towards someone.

I think misanthropy isn't counting out these two, because from my own experience I don't see a point to be rude or unfriendly towards anyone particular person/human being ^{(because just one person isn't consider as a whole human specie/nature)} without a good reason, which might be exactly being rude and unfriendly, pick a fight or causing unnecessary drama - you reap what you sow.

Don't mistake automatical thought of being a misanthrope/misanthropist to rude behaviour or any negative interaction - you just might have caused that yourself. Question your own manners and ways before blaming it all to others.
